Who Am I?

Who Am I?

Everyone already knows who you are. You’re the only one who has to figure it out.

Ask questions, listen to the answers and narrow down the possibilities until you find your word. You might start with a simple “Am I a person?” and, a minute later, be seriously wondering whether you could be a refrigerator.

An easy party game where good questions matter more than random guesses.

How to play

🧠 Game Rules

In Who Am I?, each player gets a secret word. Everyone can see it except the person who has to guess it.

Everyone around you already knows who you are. You don't.

Ask questions, listen to the answers and narrow down the possibilities until you work out who or what you are.

How the game works

Get a secret word → ask questions → make a guess → solve more words → collect points → win at the end of the game.

1. Ask questions

During your turn, you can ask the other players questions about your secret word.

They can only answer:

  • Yes.
  • No.
  • It doesn't matter.
  • Impossible to answer.

Try to ask questions that rule out whole groups of possibilities: “Am I a person?”, “Do I exist in real life?”, “Can you find me at home?”

Extra hints are not allowed. So “I'm not saying anything, but think about animals” definitely does not count as a fair answer.

Facial expressions, suspicious silence and desperate attempts not to laugh are perfectly allowed.

2. Make a guess

When you think you know the answer, say your guess.

You get 3 attempts for each secret word.

If you're right, you score a point and get a new word. If you're wrong, you lose one attempt.

So maybe don't confidently announce that you're a refrigerator just because two answers in a row were “yes”.

3. Watch the time

The host can turn on a timer for each turn.

If time runs out before you guess the word, you keep it. You can continue with the same word on your next turn.

If you use all 3 attempts, that word is finished and you receive a new one.

Sometimes you just have to accept that the word won this round.

4. Play round by round

Before the game begins, the host chooses how many rounds you will play.

Players take turns asking questions, guessing words and collecting points.

Try not to throw out random answers. A few good questions will usually get you closer much faster than a long list of wild guesses.

5. Find the winner

After the final round, the player who guessed the most words wins.

Listen carefully, save your attempts and don't be afraid to ask strange questions. Sometimes those are the ones that get you to the answer fastest.

Works well with close friends and with groups where some people have only just met.

01

Animal World

Free

This scenario brings together all kinds of animals: pets, wild animals, sea creatures, and some that are simply funny.

You might get a hedgehog, a penguin, a shark, an alpaca, a capybara, or something completely unexpected.

It’s an easy and light-hearted scenario: ask questions, listen carefully to the answers, and gradually narrow down the possibilities.

02

Professions

Free

Doctor, pilot, chef, archaeologist, photographer, detective — familiar professions, but you still have to guess which one is yours.

It’s an easy scenario: ask where the person works, what they use, and what they usually do.

Iconic Movies & TV Shows

Free

Harry Potter, Shrek, Wednesday, the Terminator, the Joker, and other characters that are pretty hard not to recognize.

We honestly tried to pick characters almost everyone would know. But we all watch different things, so if one of them means absolutely nothing to you, don’t worry. Your friends will get a great chance to make you struggle a little, and you’ll get a reason to watch a new movie or series that evening.

This scenario ranges from easy to medium difficulty. Anything you remember from your favorite movies and TV shows might help.

Everyday Objects

Free

Keys, headphones, an umbrella, a suitcase, a mirror, a kettle, and plenty of other things we see almost every day.

It all seems easy until you start figuring out whether you belong in a pocket, sit on a table, or need to be plugged into a socket.

This is an easy scenario. It works well both for a casual game with friends and for practising everyday vocabulary in language classes.

01

Famous Characters and Personalities

A bit of everything: cartoon characters, writers, musicians, historical figures, athletes, and plenty of others. Chances are, you’ve heard all these names somewhere before. One might be a movie character, another a famous military leader, and someone else a fairy-tale hero. Your task is to figure out who you are today.

This is a medium-difficulty scenario: there are plenty of familiar names, but sticking to one topic won’t get you far. You’ll need to ask questions, think carefully, and listen closely to the answers.

02

Back to the 2000s

Nokia 3310, Shrek, Harry Potter, The Sims... Feeling anything yet?

We set ringtones on our phones, sent pictures over infrared, waited for the next Harry Potter movie, and sang something like “Freestyler, raka maka fon” without really knowing what the words were supposed to be.

This scenario brings together characters, stars, games, and things from the 2000s. Some you’ll recognize straight away, while others will need a little digging around in your memory.

Kids’ Party · Ages 7–10

We made this scenario especially for kids aged 7 to 10. It’s full of familiar characters, animals, professions, fairy tales, and simple everyday things that are easy to imagine and fun to guess.

It also works perfectly for adults who really don’t feel like thinking too hard today. Or who have simply reached that point in the evening when a penguin, a pizza, and a superhero feel like exactly the right level of difficulty.

It’s an easy and friendly scenario, without characters a child may have never heard of.

04

Halloween Night

Witches, vampires, ghosts, zombies, werewolves, and those very characters that are much better met on a screen than on your way home.

On Halloween, they finally get to gather all in one place and no one finds it strange. You’ll meet classic creatures, familiar figures from films and stories, and a few you’ve definitely heard of somewhere, even if you never got around to watching the film itself.

This is a medium-difficulty scenario. You don’t have to turn the lights off, but of course it’s less fun that way.

05

After Midnight · 18+

Dates, jealousy, flirting, exes, intimacy, awkward messages, mornings after parties, and a few other things people usually start talking about once the evening has gone on long enough.

Some things here are completely innocent, others a little bolder. Sometimes the question itself will make the whole group laugh before you’ve even come close to the answer.

This scenario is for adults only. Kids are better off with penguins, pizza, and superheroes.
